POTS nutrition, recipes

Have trouble swallowing?

Do you have trouble swallowing? If so, you are not alone. A 2015 survey of 39 POTS patients found that 41% reported swallowing difficulty (Deb et al., found here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4365108/).

POTS is not the only condition associated with dysphagia (trouble swallowing). A recent NPR story reports that every year 1 in 25 people experiences dysphagia, and that it can be caused by stroke, surgery, dementia and a range of neurological disorders.

Here is a dysphagia cookbook that contains 67 pureed recipes: https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Puree-Guidebo…/…/069244517X. (Perhaps a kind family member or friend will consider making some recipes for those of us who can’t stand up long enough to cook.)
